Whether it is the first date or the 10th, Oswego has some really great places for you and your partner to go to.
Personally, my boyfriend and I have explored many of these places ourselves for a fun night out with each other.
Here are my top five places to take your beau to.
1. Lighthouse Lanes:
The bowling alley, located behind the McDonald’s on the east side of Oswego, is a great place to go. Every day of the week has a different offer to make bowling affordable and easy. For example, every Wednesday is $1 for a game of bowling. This is a great way to bring out your competitive side and will always spark a conversation about forms or who has more strikes.
2. The Red Sun Fire Roasting Co.:
I went to this restaurant on West First Street in downtown for Valentine’s Day and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was friendly and quick to serve you. The food was great too. I had a spicy vodka pasta and we shared chicken wings as an appetizer. The lighting creates a romantic atmosphere and after dinner, you can always walk along the water before heading home.
3. Oswego Cinema 7:
The movie theater is located off Bridge Street on West Second Street and is hard to miss with its glowing sign. All of the latest movie releases can be found here. One promotion that the cinema offers is $5 movie tickets every Tuesday. You and your partner can watch a movie and then discuss the potential plot holes or character development on the way home.
4. Southern Fare:
This was the restaurant that my boyfriend and I went to for our first date. It’s located on the corner of West First and Bridge. I had the mac and cheese and it was fantastic. The menu offers classic American favorites and different specials every day of the week, such as half-priced wings on Mondays.
5. Canale’s Restaurant:
This is a classic Italian restaurant on West Utica Street. The food is great, the servers are fantastic and the prices are not too high for a nice dinner. This is a great place to go for a special occasion and is guaranteed to fill you up. When I went, I was able to bring home half of my pasta for my lunch the next day.
Wherever you end up going to in Oswego for a date, as long as you are with the right person, you are bound to have fun. There’s no perfect place for a date, but these are some of the places I have had the most fun with my boyfriend.
