Central New York is a recreational and cultural Mecca that college populations at SUNY Oswego and Cayuga Community College can enjoy throughout the months of autumn.
Before the winds of Old Man Winter begin to howl, make sure to take in events and activities designed to titillate the senses.
Here is a glance at some of the more exciting happenings occurring this late summer and early fall in Oswego County:
City of Oswego Weekly Farmers Market

This iconic community event features fresh produce, baked goods, arts and crafts and live entertainment.

The outdoor market features farm fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, herbs, flowers and plants, crafts and occasional entertainment.

Haunted Oswego Tour
Now through Halloween
— Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings; the tour begins at the corner of West First and Cayuga streets, Oswego
— The 90-minute tour begins near dusk and covers about a mile of Oswego’s most-spookiest haunts.

Holistic Health & Psychic Fair

Mexico Point Park
Friends of Spirit play host to the area’s best massage, holistic, chiropractic, and energy practitioners, as well as artisan crafters, organic products and foods. The event is free to attend.

Ontario Orchards Fall Jamboree

Ontario Orchards Farm

Members of the college communities can celebrate the change of seasons with fun for all. Featured at the free event will be live music and entertainment, food and crafts, and U-pick apples and pumpkins.

Oswego’s historic Westside neighborhoods; West, Franklin and Montcalm parks
This is a community-building annual event that features musicians performing on the front porches of homes throughout the west-side historic district.

Phoenix Locktoberfest 2019
11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

State Street, Phoenix
This free fall festival on the Oswego Canal features hundreds of vendors, food and beverage garden, kids’ games and activities, two stages with multiple bands, and helicopter rides.

Fort Ontario Annual Ghost Reveal & Hunt
